Hello hello members of #Pokewarts-School and hopeful future members alike! This is ~DragonOfEclipse here with a short Pokewarts Public Service Anouncement regarding the sorting process, and what you guys can do to help us out!We all know that the Sorting Ceremony is a big deal. It's kind of like your first rite of passage as an ickle first year at Hogwarts. It's where you get placed with the people you'll be stuck with for the next 7 years, and it's where your true character is judged! People cheer, nerves run rampant, and in the end a generally good time is had all around.
Here at Pokewarts, the same ceremony applies. It might happen with a little less fanfare (being open to members all the time makes it a little difficult to have grand ceremonies all the time), but it is no less important. We only want to make sure that every character gets placed right where they fit, so we do our best. When an application is accepted into the group it is pored over. Every little detail is picked out and carefully examined so that when it comes time to announce which house your precious little baby will belong to, you get the correct one. Sometimes it's a quick process. Sometimes it takes longer. It all depends on the character, but each one is treated with exactly the same care.
Now, why am I telling you this? Well, partly it's because I want to assure you all that a lot of time and thought went into sorting each of your characters when you got in (And will be put into sorting them, for all you hopefuls out there!). But at the same time, I would like to say that as magical as we may seem, sadly us mods don't possess the all-seeing power of the sorting hat. We can't dig deep down into the souls of your characters and see everything that makes them tick. That means that when we sort them, all we have to go on is what you give us.
Please keep this in mind when you're writing your applications! A few well-thought sentences in the personality section is great but sometimes it's just not enough, and when that happens it's up to us to make a judgement call on where we think your character belongs. It's very worrisome, because the last thing we want is to place a character in the wrong house on accident! And on top of that, we don't enjoy trying to fill in details about
your characters, because they aren't ours and we don't know them like you do!
So when you go to fill out your character's personality, take a minute to think about it. What kinds of things do they do for fun? Do they have a lot of friends, or a few? How do they treat their friends? How do they treat their enemies, or random students they pass in the halls? What is the one thing they want most in the world? What is the last thing they would ever say out loud? What are they most afraid of? What do they think about themselves? What do they think about magic/muggles?
Keep these sorts of thingsand more in mind, and write out as much as you can think of, and you can be sure that the house your character is put into is the exact perfect one for them!
On a related topic, we've been getting a lot of questions about wands lately. WHEN CHOOSING/CREATING YOUR WAND, we're looking for a minimum of ONE wood, ONE core, and a length (usually between 10-15 inches). You are allowed to choose two woods for one wand, and/or two cores as well if you choose, for more customization, but that isn't required.
That's all for today my lovely witches and wizards! I hope you all are enjoying the group so far, and that those of you interested in joining are eagerly awaiting your acceptance! Please feel free to post on the group page for critiques, or ask any questions that you might have! We're here to help you all.
Have a great day guys! :3
